Eric interviews pastor and filmmaker, Joe Schimmel about his new documentary DVD set "The Submerging Church."

Each also share unique perspectives on how millions inside Christian churches today have so easily accepted Emergent postmodernism and how it is submerging many congregations both in America and around the world. Joe and Eric also recount how they became aware of the growing Emergent Church and its troubling diversions into cultic and occultic philosophy.

Jill Martin Rische is Eric's guest again this week as we focus again on the world of the occult from a biblical perspective. Jill is the daughter of the late Dr. Walter Martin, the 20th centuries greatest Christian apologist. She, and co-author Kurt Van Gorden, have taken Walter Martin's notes and teachings and have developed the most complete treatise ever compiled on the topic in their book, The Kingdom of the Occult.

In the first part of the interview, Eric and Jill warned against the inherent dangers of reading occult-oriented literature without first understanding the seductive and spiritually damaging nature of them. In today's episode, Jill and Eric discuss the spread and pervasive acceptance of occultism through the media and literature today. They also connect the Hindu worship tool of yoga with demonic power and detail the fact that Hindu yogis (teachers) decry the current western culture's yoga craze, in particular the notion that yoga can be joined to Christianity, as ignorant and naive.

Eric continues the live teaching by reminding us that biblical Christians will be aware of the days they live in - just like the leaders of the tribe of Issachar who understood the times and knew how to respond in the day they lived in (I Chron. 12:32).

Eric concludes by reminding us of Solomon's request before God. The King didn't ask for power over his foes, or long life, or for riches, but instead, he asked God to make him discerning. This powerful truth is sorely needed in the Church today and in the lives of each individual seeking to please the Lord.

A main focus in this weeks message is Jesus' words warning those who had walked with Him and seen the many proofs that He was indeed the Messiah. The Errors of the Emergent Church part 4 (revisited)

In this final session of the series Eric recaps and draws us to the only conclusion possible for biblical thinkers - that the Emergent Church movement really isn't Christianity at all. He summarizes that those leading this Postmodern redefinition of Christianity have taken the movement perilously outside the boundaries of orthodoxy into blatant apostasy endangering the eternal life of any who follow them. Instead of continuing in the faith as Paul exhorted his son in the faith, Timothy, to do, the Emergent movement has dismantled historic Christianity, left the Bible without doctrine or context, and inspired a spirit of rebellion among its followers. For authentic Believers, our task remains to lovingly refute and correct error and then to teach the truth whenever possible to a lost and corrupt world - including those who claim to be "Christian" inside the Emergent heresy.
